Theatre Company announces the cast and crew for “The King and I,” the annual
holiday production for the Seventy-Fifth Anniversary Season, which is sponsored
by The Stefanie H. Weill Charitable Fund and Acuity for the Arts. For three-quarters of a century the

With music by Richard Rodgers and
book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, “The King and I” is one of the most
lavish musicals ever produced on Broadway.
Based on “Anna and the King of Siam” by Margaret Landon, it dramatizes
the clash of two diverse cultures. When
Anna Leonowens travels to the Orient to tutor the
many children of the king she has no idea into what she is getting. That their relationship should blossom into
an intense relationship based on mutual respect is surprising based on their
initial contact.
In the coveted
title roles are Erik Tanck as the
King and Lisa Golda as Anna. Tanck was last seen in the lead role of James
in “Children of a Lesser God,” while Golda made her debut earlier this season
as Rose Alvarez in “Bye, Bye Birdie.”
Two star-crossed lovers, Tuptim and Lun Tha, are played respectively
by Catrina Tarr, who
also debuted in “Birdie,” and Jake
Monroe, who did the same in last season’s “Clue: The Musical.” Sharon
Quinn makes her first appearance with the Theatre Company as Lady Thiang, the King’s head wife, while Clark R. Kirst, who has
been seen in numerous productions, is the Kralahome, the King’s Prime Minister. Holland
White and Connor Giles, who have
worked together in six Theatre Company productions, play Anna’s son, Louis, and
the heir to the throne, Prince Chululongkorn,
respectively.
The King’s wives
are played by Leslea Brandt, Rachel Eggert, Erika Herrmann, Megan Mrdjenovich, Elizabeth
Plotka, Samantha
Lin Pool, Tamara Richelle
Pool, Danielle Rammer, Kim Singer, M. Lisa Tanck, Heidi Weinaug and Lily Zimmermann.
Alexandria Chapman, Jon Cook, Michael Covey,
Sirena Eberhardy, Lex Eggert, Anastasia Fontaine, Jardin Fontaine, Victor Geiser, Gretchen
Geiser, Gabriella
Kisvari, Kaelyn Kittel, and Nathan Kittel
are just one-half of the King’s children.
The others are Angela Landgraf, Anna
Menzer, Elizabeth Menzer, Clayton Michener, Brenna Montgomery,
Molly Montgomery, Hannah Staats,
Stephanie Strean, Steven Thaves, Heidi Sunshine White,
Hope White and Cassie
Ziegelbauer. Neil
Beaton, Bill Coldren,
Bob Deyo, Chris Fontaine and Bob Staats play various parts throughout
the show.
Directed by Ralph Maffongelli, “The King and I”
features set and light designs by Dustin
L. Uhl, the staff Technical Director/Designer. Janice
Westphal is the musical director, while
Veronica Hilke has provided choreographic assistance. Costume designs are by Beverly Dulmes and Joyce Nery and make-up
designs by Kathy Perronne

Company, “The King and I” will open Friday, December 5, and be performed each
day through Saturday, December 13, with the exception of Monday. There are evening performances every night
except Sunday, December 7, with matinees that day and on Saturday, December 13,
in addition to the evening performance.
The production will be presented at the Leslie W. Johnson Theatre, 2820
Union Avenue, Sheboygan, with evening shows at 7:30 p.m. and matinees at 2:00 p.m.
Admission is $20.00 for adults, $16.00
for seniors sixty and over and $10.00 for youngsters through high school and
