THEATRE FESTIVAL & FLEA MARKET WILL
ENTERTAIN ALL

The Sheboygan Theatre Company is holding a “THEATRE FESTIVAL & FLEA MARKET” on Saturday, August 9th, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Horace Mann Middle School, 2820 Union Avenue, Sheboygan.  This is an excellent start to celebrate their 75th Anniversary Season.  This year is a realization of a dream event which now includes entertainment & children’s activities in the middle of summer.  An event that everyone is welcome and everyone can find something to enjoy.

For 3 years the Sheboygan Theatre Company has been opening its doors for a massive rummage sale.  The sale starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m.  The generosity this past year has been so tremendous that they need to continue to sell unused and donated items.  These include: theatre items, furniture, carpeting, televisions, costumes, vintage clothing, decorations, crafts, building materials, and many one of a kind, oddities from multi-family donations.  This is a perfect opportunity to pick up dorm furniture.  These items are priced to sell and will be sold at ridiculously low prices which includes $1 for most items and $5 for furniture.  The sale will have special discounts throughout the day.  Delivered donations are welcome August 4th, 5th, and 7th from
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., excluding liquids or electronics.  Bakery donations are wanted on August 8th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For the 2nd year, they are including a Flea Market with more vendors than last year.  People have been invited to rent a space to sell items for all ages.  There is an interesting variety items which include both new and used.  Some of the items include kitchen items, jewelry, cards, beads, craft, holiday, antiques, collectibles, and resale.  They are holding this in the gym where the space can expand to match the need.  The event is designed to expand each year as it grows.

The most important addition this year is the free entertainment.  They wanted to give people something fun to do when they are done shopping.  Finances are tight this year and this is another way to help those finding it difficult to afford entertainment on the tight family budgets.
The entertainment lineup includes:
9:30 a.m. Stilt Walking Demonstration by Chris Fontaine
10:00 a.m. Rey Santana Dance Lessons
11:00 a.m. Improv Troupe
12:00 p.m. Reader's Theatre "Favorite Children's Tales”
1:00 p.m. Swing Dance Lessons by Eileen McCormick & Russell Peterson
1:30 p.m. Performing Arts Workshop Demonstration
2:00 p.m. Free Bingo
3:00 p.m. Reader's Theatre "Favorite Children's Tales"
4:00 p.m. Improv Troupe
5:00 p.m. Sheboygan Theatre Company Singers
6:00 p.m. Live Singers Amanda King & Mike King
6:45 p.m. Raffle Winners Announced.

Entertainment would only be fun if food was available so we put them together in the cafeteria from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 pm.  There is a brat fry, which also includes hamburgers, cheeseburgers, popcorn, soda, and bottled water.  The food is affordable so everyone can eat, have fun, and stay the entire day.

The Sheboygan Theatre Company will also have a raffle with some wonderfully prizes which include Z-Spot, Partylite, Tastefully Simple, School Supplies, Tea, and Holiday Baskets.

Another important addition is free children's activities from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Children can enjoy face painting, Wii games, stilt walking lessons, temporary tattoos, caricatures, pool, and ping-pong.  There may be some other surprises as well.
